Milton Whittaker was born in Newton Ground, St. Kitts and received his early education at the Sandy Point Boys, Sandy Point Senior School and the St. Kitts-Nevis Grammar School. He attended the College of the Virgin Island and Canadian Universities: Calgary, Alberta and Western Ontario. He holds BSc and MSc degrees in Chemistry, as well as an MEd and PhD in Science. He has held many positions in education including Head of Science at Sandy Point High School, Lecturer and Head of Secondary Science Education at St Kitts-Nevis Teachers College and College of Further Education, National Supervisor of Secondary Science, Director of the Bureau of Standards/ Multipurpose Lab (1997-2007), Director of Research (2007-13) at the St. Kitts Biomedical Research Foundation. He has been an active member of the Pesticide and Toxic Chemicals Board and the St. Christopher Heritage Society. Currently, he is Chairman of the National Council on Drug Abuse Prevention.
