George Washington Archibald, born in 1934 in Soho, Basseterre, was a renowned educator, writer, and social advocate from St. Kitts and Nevis. With a BA in Economics & History and a teaching career spanning various government schools, he later became the principal of the Basseterre Junior High School, now known as the Washington Archibald High School. Throughout his life, he has been actively involved in community initiatives and served as the Executive Director of the St. Kitts Family Planning Association. Archibald’s literary achievements include writing for newspapers and authoring books such as “Reflections on an Epic Journey” and “A View from Baby’s Traffic,” commenting on the political and social development of his homeland. His book, “The Legacy of Simeon Daniel, First Premier of Nevis”, further showcased his dedication to preserving the cultural heritage of the region.
