As Civil Servant and Governor of St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla, lawyer, Methodist Church local preacher, historian and advocate of local heritage, Sir Probyn Inniss provided outstanding national service. Sir. Probyn made an invaluable contribution to his country out of a deep sense of patriotism. He exemplified the motto of St.kitts and Nevis, ‘Country above Self,’ and compiled Memorable Quotations. Sir Probyn held the office of Governor of the Associated State of St.Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla from 1975 to 1981 and was knighted by the Queen in 1976. He was a graduate of the University of the West Indies and the Lords Inns of Court. Sir Probyn initiated History and Heritage Week, late History and Heritage Month, in St. Kitts and Nevis.
